CRIME SCRAPS IS THREE

It is Crime Scraps third birthday today!
I read somewhere that the average blog lasts three months so in blog years Crime Scraps is very ancient.
Looking back those first few faltering steps seem rather strange now. My first book review featured Andrea Camilleri's The Shape of Water and was entitled Scicilian Feast, food and crime fiction always on my mind. Also on that first day I also posted the book cover of The Terrorists by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo, and even had some comments. During those first weeks I had a lot of encouragement from other bloggers and without them Crime Scraps would probably have disappeared, so thanks to them and everyone else who has visited.

Keep it up, Norman!
I want to keep reading you for another thirty.
And thanks for the last three.

Well done, Norman - and happy birthday to your blog! I dimly recollect that I discovered your blog at the same time as Detectives Beyond Borders, via a post by Karen (or maybe CFR?) - but I am afraid memory is faint. Anyway, I am very glad I did discover your blog as it is one of my favourites by a long way; I always look forward to it when I see a post popping up in my RSS reader or at Friend Feed. Long may you continue writing on crime fiction (especially) and all those other things that interest you.

Thanks all, I have just returned from a glorious day of sunshine at the English Riviera, Torquay, St Marychurch and Babbacombe.
My research for the Agatha Christie week involved a poached salmon and cucumber sandwich and later in the evening a large plaice. I did have to walk around the sea front at Torquay and take a few photos and sit on the pier in the sunshine, but research is hard work and someone has to do it. ;o)

Wonderful! I had not realized that your blog was so new when first I came across it. I thought it splendid then, and I have had occasion to reflect that it has stayed wholly on track since, getting only better as time passes. Thank you for the pleasure of it, perhaps especially for the bold reviews and the quirky quizzes.

Maxine I think you were the one who discovered my blog, at the same time as Peter's Detectives Beyond Borders. Mine was the one with the grammatical errors and the spelling mistakes. :o) Thanks very much for all the encouragement you have given me, without your praise and the links from Petrona I am sure Crime Scraps would have withered on the vine.
And thanks very much for the latest Kerr, a writer who can get a laugh out of the grimmest situations. The start is very promising.

Happy blog birthday Norman. Your blog is older, wiser and more interesting than the average. I'm hopeless at quizzes but I read everything else with much enjoyment

Oh, and I did not intentionally rip off your cake. I found the same one idependently and only saw later that you had used it.

It's a nice cake, isn't it?

I never thought you had ripped off my cake Peter, just like me looked for a free item to post. ;O)
Let us hope that our two young toddlers reach the age of four and there is a suitable cake.
