MONTALBANO FEASTS AGAIN IN THE LAND OF LINCOLN

On a much lighter more pleasant note Lisa at the always mouth watering Champaign Taste is a great admirer of the appetite of Salvo Montalbano. Her latest post at:

is both a tribute to Sicilian snack food and to the novels of Andrea Camilleri.

Have you seen Paola and Guido Brunetti on biscotti here?: http://briciole.typepad.com/blog/2008/03/novel-food-3-bi.html

Thanks Peter.
Although I find the concept of Paola's English nanny not letting her dunk disturbing after all dunking biscuits in tea is an English invention.

Thanks for the mention, Uriah. Once again the Novel Food event was very enjoyable (not to mention tasty). I find I'm addicted to calia e simenza now.

Next time I may do pasticcio or caponata (as suggested by Peter, per the soon-to-be-available Paper Moon), or pasta in squid ink (I think I saw that in the last Montalbano I read—The Patience of the Spider)! Look for my next attempt at Sicilian cuisine in June.

Cheers.

Lisa, my taste buds are crying out for your next attempt at Sicilian cuisine, and I am impatient to get hold of Paper Moon.
